1. Preamble & Regulatory Alignment

This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") governs the access and use of the IoTank platform and its associated hardware assets. This Policy is designed to ensure the safety, security, and integrity of critical fuel infrastructure in accordance with the Laws of the Republic of Kenya, including but not limited to the Energy Act 2019, the Petroleum Act 2019, and the Data Protection Act 2019 (DPA).

2. Privacy

The Privacy Policy describes the information processed through IoTank, provider services, processing locations, retention, and how to submit privacy requests. Those details depend on the actual service configuration and applicable customer agreements; this policy does not claim a particular company data role or registration status.

Read the Privacy Policy and send privacy requests to support@iotank.co.ke. A request is not confirmation that every record can be erased; applicable retention and backup handling are described in the Privacy Policy and customer agreement.

3. Hardware handling

Follow the installation instructions supplied with your equipment and the site’s safety procedures. The portal does not determine the hazardous-area classification or certification status of installed hardware.

3.1 Installation and service: Do not open or modify hardware unless you are authorized to service that equipment and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

3.2 Site safety: A portal alert is not an emergency-response service. Use your site’s emergency procedure and verify suspected issues with suitable physical checks.

4. Prohibited Activities

Users are strictly prohibited from the following activities:

  • Unauthorized access: Attempting to access an account, device, or record without authorization.
  • Record integrity: Knowingly entering false operational information or misrepresenting portal exports as regulator approvals.
  • Credential protection: Sharing credentials or attempting to bypass the account controls shown in the portal.
  • Abusive use: Interfering with the service or sending automated traffic that disrupts its operation.

5. Identity Protection & Forensic Auditing

Use available account security features and keep your credentials private. The events recorded, their retention, and access controls depend on the service configuration described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Enforcement & Fines

We may restrict or suspend access where necessary to protect accounts, customers, hardware, or the service. Applicable customer agreements and law govern any further action.
